Often skipped in traditional education venues, The Masters Drawing Course will introduce you to the foundations of classical and volumetric drawing used by master artists for hundreds of years. No artist should start a career in art without a solid visual foundation in drawing and an ability to apply real technical skill in their work. This course teaches classical drawing techniques from the Masters of the Renaissance.
Learn how to see and represent volume and shape in your drawings. This course starts with basic shapes and volumes and teaches sketching and shading of solid objects using the plane view. After this course, you will be able to deconstruct objects into planes and then gradually learn to blend them together to create highly realistic drawings of objects.
The next step in The Masters Drawing series. Drawing II introduces artists that have taken Drawing I to an expanded subject matter including more complicated shapes and textures using other still-life objects. This course will teach you how to draw and shade clothing and fabrics, textured items, plants, and flowers building on the plane view introduced in Drawing I.
This is the final course in The Masters Drawing Course and the most advanced. Drawing III brings in the more complicated and sophisticated subject matter of the human form. Artists that have completed Drawing I & Drawing II will now be ready to tackle classical human busts and faces. With all tools in hand, you will now be able to see the different planes of a surface and apply advanced shading techniques to your drawings. After this course you will have well on your way to taking your master skills to the next level!
The Foundations Art Class Series teaches new and experienced artists to actually 'see' the subject of your art. Not only the subject, but further into the surroundings and even into the 'emotion' of the subject. This set of courses will make you aware of different ways to see and the vast array of creative opportunities and tools your artwork can utilize. Start with the basics in seeing, then moving to understanding 'why' you are creating what you are creating.
Most new artists start off with many preconceptions of viewing things. People will look at a 'house' as a house or a 'tree' as a tree forgetting to really look and see the subject as if it was being viewed for the first time. Foundations I breaks apart your preconceptions in viewing and helps to reconstruct a solid base for really unique and creative drawing using only line. Here we primarily train you to see past the object and into its components. This course is excellent for everyone and in nearly any profession. It will help you creatively solve problems better since you will be able to see the world in an entirely new light.
Foundations II further breaks apart the idea of art, training you to think more creatively about any problem. This course teaches the foundations for light & dark, shapes, volume, texture, deconstruction of form, and representation and expression of ideas. Time will also be spent to discuss perspective drawing and depth of field.
The final Foundations courses brings everything together from Foundations I & II and applies the tools learned to thinking about and creating real art. When thinking and making art, why start with a canvas or a tube of paint or pencil? Art is an expression of you and there is no end to the creativity you can apply to your artwork. There is no correct idea or way to do art. With that said and so many possibilities at hand, creating art can be a daunting task! This course will guide you into your artistic future by applying all your tools to create truly unique and stunning artwork. You will be impressed with how you now approach your artwork and any creative problem in work or life. You will gain a solid foundation to take your art to the next level!
The Experiments with Art courses will get you thinking 'outside the box' by introducing new approaches to creating art. Get set to explore new techniques and tools and other ways to break out of the stiff boundaries of the canvas. These courses will help you release your creativity without the traditional boundaries inherit in the standard toolset used in art classes.

Additionally, this course will teach you how to mix colors from a basic palette of only 5 colors giving you a quick, but indispensable knowledge of color theory. Master of old use to create works of art in wet plaster called Fresco. However, modern Portland-based cements are far superior and longer lasting to plaster techniques. Learn to create beautiful and colorful stained concrete works of art and decorative interior pieces. Learn about the different types of stains available for concrete and how to apply.
Many have argued that abstraction is not 'true' art or 'doesn't require any skill' to do. This can't be further from the truth. Truly great abstract art requires a deep knowledge of tools and techniques and close introspection of yourself. This group of courses will help you step into the world of abstraction learning tools, techniques and approaches to viewing, feeling, and representing what you see or experience. Foundations in Art I is a prerequisite for this series of courses. Foundations in Art II & III are also recommended prior to taking these courses.
This course introduces artists to representation vs. expression. How to approach your subject matter from a new perspective.
Course II of The Art of Abstraction discusses tools and techniques used in abstraction. Are you trying to create abstract art but using only ordinary tools? This course will break all boundaries for the tools that you use. Your creative freedom will soar when you discover all the available and low-cost methods and materials available to you. Are you ready to get creative?
Course III will highlight use of line, color, and texture. Knowledge of these components will open up new avenues for expression. From this course you will gain a deep knowledge of the tools available to artists today.
The Art of Abstraction IV focuses on adding emotion into your artwork. How do you feel about the subject you are working and how is it expressed in your artwork? Utilize color, tone, and energy to convey your true feelings in your art. Artwork can be therapeutic and abstract artwork can be a channel for your emotions and feelings.
Bring it all together in this final course in the Abstraction series. This final course emphasizes the importance of approaching your art conceptually from ideas and emotions using all the tools and techniques you have learned
