Perception consists of two elements: sensation provided by the world and interpretation provided by our minds. Though we all experience the same external stimuli, our personal experiences, beliefs and expectations affect our interpretation of those surroundings.
My art is typically non-representational, allowing the viewer to interpret as they will. A taste of my personality is reflected in the ambiguous nature of my work; the viewer feels they can define the image but may be left with a bit of uncertainty.
Through color and texture I aim to create a calming, reflective environment inspired by nature and a sense of solitude. No grandiose statement, no political undertones, no historical reference. I create art for me. My world may not be your world, but I hope you enjoy this glimpse into mine.
